Tour Itinerary
We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.
Morning:
- 8:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive to Marangu Village, located approximately 45 minutes away. Enjoy scenic views of the Kilimanjaro foothills en route.
- 9:00 AM: Arrival at Marangu. Begin with a guided tour of a local coffee farm. Learn about the cultivation, harvesting, and roasting process of coffee beans, and enjoy a fresh cup of aromatic, hand-prepared coffee.
Mid-Morning Activities:
- Visit the historic Chagga caves. These underground tunnels were once used by the Chagga people to hide from Maasai warriors during tribal conflicts. Discover their significance and how they were constructed.
- Explore the village’s banana plantations and learn about the different uses of bananas in Chagga culture, including brewing traditional banana beer.
Lunch:
- 12:30 PM: Enjoy a traditional Chagga meal served at a local restaurant or family home. The meal typically includes dishes like “Ndizi” (banana stew), rice, beans, and seasonal vegetables.
Afternoon Activities:
- 2:00 PM: Embark on a short hike to the breathtaking Ndoro or Kinukamori waterfalls. Surrounded by lush greenery, these cascading falls are perfect for photos and a relaxing moment in nature.
